A post graduate day for support and inspiration. We will share Shiatsu, study the Heart-Uterus vessel, enjoy lunch and conversation, and swap ideas and news. This is an excellent channel for linking heart to Hara, the emotional centre to the ground, and to look at symptoms such as recovering from miscarriage, stillbirth and other issues where the physical symptoms have abated but the emotional and spiritual levels are still needing to be rebalanced. Venue to be announced. To book please contact admin@tssed or 07821 264 882.

Chi Gung Mornings for everyone
With Peter Browne. 22/23 Feb 14. 10.30-12.30 each day. Taken separately, each session will cost £10; taken together they will cost £17.50. There are concessionary prices for students of the Shiatsu School ‘Each morning will include different exercises culled from the schools of Chi Gung which I have followed, so the two sessions will complement each other, but if you can only manage to come to one morning try to come on the Sunday, as usually there are more people registering for Saturday.
Stilling the mind as well as the body is so important in our busy lives and I will allow time for the opportunity to appreciate the stillness during each session. “Keep up the practice!” as my teacher Shen Yi Ling used to say when he taught us in the Salisbury Centre – in this case the practice is to observe the breath for a few minutes, then allow the consciousness to observe sensations arising and falling in the Head, Hands and Feet. This is one of the ways in which Daoists connect to Heaven and Earth, one of the goals of gathering Chi.’ Please book by phoning the Healthy Life Centre on 0131 229 0724.

The Penetrating Vessel with Tamsin Grainger MRSS T. Thurs 14th November, 9.30am – 2.30pm. £60 (£50 Shiatsu School Edinburgh assistants and graduates)

A post graduate day for support and inspiration. We will share Shiatsu, study the Chong Mai / Penetrating vessel, enjoy lunch and conversation, and swap ideas and news. One of the 8 Extraordinary Vessels, the Chong Mai is sometimes known as the ‘Sea of Blood’, and it is found between the CV and GV channels so it is in the deepest, most interior part of ourselves. Known to benefit menstrual patterns, male sexual issues, student burn-out and to calm the Heart’s emotions (amongst many others), this aims to be great CPD that is relevant to your Shiatsu practice, provides precious self-development, and reconnects you with fellow practitioners.

Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and regular Shiatsu sessions help to prevent the build up of stress in our daily lives.

Learning to give Shiatsu to others – a fulfilling and caring way to support family and friends; add to your existing complementary therapy skills; or start a new career
